The definition of an Asset?

We all have our own definition of an ASSET. For most, this definition is monetary. Signifying our sense of self worth, and security. Some believe that the more we have, the happier we will be. If this is true, then why is it that so many people who have assets beyond measure can be the loneliest and unhappiest people around? Why is Elvis dead? We all have assets and it's a matter of looking at things differently. I like to think of an asset as someone who motivates and encourages me. Truth is we are all motivated and encouraged by people in our lives. This motivation helps us achieve our goals when sometimes we feel as if there is no hope. In my own life, gaining financial independence and working to make a living was always a priority. up, this appeared to be more important in my own family. It appeared that it was more important to get a really good high paying job than go to school and get an education. At least this was how my own parents saw things. I understand completely the reasons they saw things this way, and today I do have admiration for the people my parents were. However, it goes without saying, that we can become obsessed with monetary gains, that we can forget the most important things in life.
As I reflect back
and look at my own experiences, I can also see how I created this in my current life for a very important purpose. My biggest motivation in the last few years, has been my children. They are the reason I am choosing to break the cycle. As their parent this is my responsibility. They are the motivation which made me want to do things differently.
Spend the time to revalue your assets and revisit your values and what's important in your life. Take everything into consideration. You may need to change you thoughts and your perceptions and this may mean doing it differently. This can appear to be a very different and difficult step if you believe it to be so.Letting go of many of my own ideas about money, as fearful as that has been at times has been a big part of the learning process for me. I saw money a a form of security and safety, after my mother died when I was 25. All I believed I had for security back then was money, since I felt as if I had no one to go to if I needed anything, and holding on to a job at all costs was the way I was raised, and eventually it took over and controlled my life. It was only after some serious wake up calls that I really turned my perception around, and began to see my work as something I chose to do rather than something I had to do. This helped change my attitude and this changed my energy and my feelings of being stuck. This created new opportunities, and I may not have seen them as such if I was focusing on the negative rather than the positive. It's not always easy to have faith and trust, and yet, sometimes we don't realize how much energy we use up when we remain negative. I intend to continue to keep trusting the process, and I intend to do my best to continue to let go of any attachment to money as my form of security. Money is no longer what is keeping me safe this was merely my perception and nothing more.
Yes, the word ASSET, is a very big part of my story. It's a reminder, and a motivation in more ways than one. Thanks to my children my biggest teachers I am encouraged to continue to create the changes I want to see around me.
My schooling at this moment is a Positive Confirmations of This Every Day
because it is leading me to my soul purpose. I've always wanted to make a difference and help others. I do believe this begins with helping children see their potentiality .
Find the strength to empower yourself, and continue learning and practicing because we all have the potential to learn, and it is never too late. You won't have the answers before hand, and you may have no idea where to go from here. Trust in yourself, you are your biggest asset. Being willing and committed to taking responsibility and choose to take the steps even when you may not exactly know for sure what the next step may be. This require a trust in yourself and the willingness to see the good in all rather than the bad.
ASSET
This word reminds me of my goals, my purpose, and most of all my intent. How Can I Expect this from anyone else when I know it begins with me? In all honesty the word ASSET for me, is the name of my youngest daughter spelled backwards. She is one of two of my most valued and cherished assets, my daughters. I am grateful to be their mother and you may be wondering what this has to do with my subject? Truth is, I'm still doing my best understanding what this all means to me, because from my own experiences, breaking the cycle of how I see money, and the connection this has to my children and my relationship to them is very much tied to my own experiences with money, and how I saw money growing up.
