I am the faces of you

I am the faces of you is a poem about the mask's we all wear that keep us safe and at times our secrets hidden. This poem symbolizes our ego, who's main purpose is to keep us safe, and protected from vulnerability.

As we begin to understand the role of our ego, we can begin to understand that we wear these masks at times without consciously being aware, because we believe that if people knew the real person behind the masks they may think or believe our deepest fears about our self or our stories. That we are not good enough, smart enough, worthy or deserving of anything good.

We are afraid that no one would like the person we really are behind the masks. Living this way keeps us small and we continue to feed our egos. It keeps us stuck and exactly where we are until we chose to look at our story differently and begin to remove our masks.

Begin to see your masks as a way that you have kept yourself safe for as long as you've needed.

Recognize that your past does not need to become your future. Accept and find love in all of your experiences.

You can find inner peace as you begin to remove your masks and as you begin to show your self to others.

Begin to know yourself in your own experiences

This growth will begin to re-emerge through you, as you hear the voice of your intuitive self and begin to trust in yourself.

As you acknowledge your deepest fears, you may discover that Your Vulnerability is Your Biggest Gift to Others. Through your vulnerability you show others how to do the same.

Recognize yourself behind the mask

As you read the poem below you may recognize yourself. As you read the poem below may it help you see other people in your life in a new way.

If someone says hurtful things to you, what miracle could you create if rather than believing their actions, and words, and reacting, you stop and look beneath their words, and behavior, and recognize their FEAR. What if you felt compassion, and empathy, and rather than take it personally, just listened, and let them know they were heard?

Please hear what I am not Saying. Don't be fooled by me.Don't be fooled by the face I wear. For I wear a mask, a thousands masks........masks that I'm afraid to take off, and none of them is me.Pretending is an art that's second nature with me, but don't be fooled.

For God's sake don't be fooled.

I give you the impression that I am secure, that all is sunny and unruffled with me... within as well as without, that confidence is my name and coolness is my game, that the water's calm and I'm in control, and that I need no one.But don't believe me.My surface may seem smooth but my surface is my mask, ever-varying and ever-concealing.Beneath lies no complacence.Beneath lies confusion and fear and loneliness. But I hide this. I don't want anybody to know it.
